Scribblers Anonymous

For all those on the Falls Village Blog who prefer to hide their identities, look what I found. And no, I won’t tell you who started Anarachists Anonymous. S/he prefers to remain among the anonymice. Suffice it to say, however, that it was not yours truly.

  1. Terry,
Thanks for this. I think the really interesting thing about all the anonymous comments is that participatory democracy is hard and scary. There’s a certain equilibrium in Falls Village that people are trying to maintain because they do have to live with one another. There is fine line between expressing one’s honest opinion and offending one’s neighbor.
I would prefer that everyone used their real names on the Falls Village blog but I understand why they won’t. I spoke once at a Town Meeting and I found it very frightening. It’s quite uncomfortable when you pass someone in the Post Office and they will not say hello anymore because they don’t agree with your opinions on local issues/
