Musical Comedy at Housy This Weekend
March 23, 2007 on 9:59 am | In Main |
Don’t forget to go to HVRHS this weekend to see A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum. It’s early Stephen Sondheim (1962). Hilarious.
I myself was in a production of it once and had a ball. Regrettably, at home I still have the video of myself singing “Everybody Ought to Have a Maid.”
Togas and sandals were the order of the day. Enjoy.

Vague memories of that notable performance. Or am I thinking of Neil Young…

i’d love to see the blogger singing “Everybody Ought to Have a Maid”.
I’m more partial to “Comedy Tongight”… my 5 year old saw that preformed by Joel Grey and some muppets on THE MUPPET SHOW Dvd.. and was singing it for days.

It’s a hit! I went last night and “A Funny Thing” succeeds as both entertainment and arts education. Everyone who made this show possible should be congratulated. It’s important that we all support such a worthy and enjoyable production.

Dan,
Thanks for the review. Glad to hear it went well. Some day I’ll post the video of myself singing “The House of Marcus Lycus.” Oh, for the days when I had more hair and less flesh.

It was fabulous! Bravo to all involved. It was the best show I’ve seen in these parts in many years.
