He may be a sleazeball, but The Hammer can take a great mugger. The vanquished former House Majority Leader and alleged money launderer Tom DeLay’s mugshot looks good enough to put on his official website.
Meanwhile, the mugshot of alleged attempted murder and NASA astronaut Lisa Nowak looks like she just finished lying on a bed of nails after a crack binge. As for Nick Nolte, well, he bears a stark resemblance to someone was arrested for crashing his Mercedes after one too many Absoluts (and possibly some GHB).
But the case of Nowak is fascinating. She drove from Houston to Orlando (nearly a thousand miles) wearing a diaper because she did not want to stop to go potty. She may be on onto something, for as Colin says, “We all have days when we’re really too busy to go the bathroom.”
P.S. For an explanation of how astronauts deal with their waste in space, click here. Evidently they do not wear Depends.

There are so many angles to this story ( Three at least ) A GPS bracelet? The technology, if I’m not mistaken, is based on triangulation. How fitting, huh? And the lawyer is sure to make history: The first one to argue that an astronaut isn’t a flight risk. Funny, but sad, too. I know someone who interned at NASA in Houston. Too much on the plate. Way too much pressure. Lisa Marie might just be a canary in a coal mine. This might just be a wake up call:
Houston? We got a problem.

I think I would wear diapers on take off as well!!!
Nowak looks like that in the mug shot why?
Well, even though she had her NASA diapers on…a 900 mile drive to kill someone, that is unsucessful, with no bathroom break….
Wait till she meets Bertha in the bunk bed!!!!
Then she will really see stars!!!

Terrence,
“The first one to argue that an astronaut isn’t a flight risk.”
That is a great line. Where did you get it? If you made it up yourself, you are a genius.
Fred,
My understanding is this is the first time an astronaut has been charged with a felony.

And now NASA is “reviewing” their psych procedures. Good going, guys. Columbia never had to break up in flight over Texas. Check out The Smoking Gun’s archive; they’ve got internal memos expressing concern about the foam way before the shuttle even left the hangar. NASA has become too bureaucratic for its own good.
