They weren't allowed to. They were confined to "free speech zones" five blocks away. Second, the Neterei Karta rabbis also turned up and they rallied in SUPPORT of Amadinejad. (They also attended an event for Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez at Cooper Union Wednesday night where Harry Belefonte introduced the companero from South America.) JTA didn't mention the Neterei Karta rally, but your blog posting prompted me to post a photo and cutline on www.thecornerreport.com where I do mention it. So, why the outrage at the lack of press coverage of the Zionists, but not at the lack of press coverage of the anti-Zionists? Sure, there's a herd mentality, and the big boys tend to cover the same things and to omit to cover certain things,but, especially in terrms of TV news, there are also space limitations that drive what is and is not to be covered. No doubt, though, that this is a story that national papers should have picked up, and that deserved to be picked up. We have collectively demonstrated the strength of the U.S. Constitution and Bill of Rights by permitting Iran's CEO and Venezuela's to shout fire in our theater. Remember: what is going on, demonstrations or none, rhetoric or none, warmongering or none, is not the fault of the media. We at CATV 6 run I.N.N. news live at 6:30 every night Monday thru Friday, and we run Democracy Now every Monday thru Fridaya t 12 noon, and both shows had coverage of what you are talking about. I do not always agree with what I see on I.N.N or Democracy Now here at CATV 6, but I can tell you between Democracy Now at 12 noon and I.N.N at 6:30 PM, you get a whole new perspective on the news!!!!!
